Lorca Resort Golf and Spa is situated in a privileged mountain setting of outstanding natural beauty in the south-western corner of Murcia province, close to the border with the Andalusian province Almeria. More precisely it is situated on the foothills of the Sierra Almenara nature reserve. By car it is only 10 minutes away from the historic town of Lorca and the coastal fishing town of Aguilas is 10 minutes the other direction. Left and right to Aguilas there are numerous virgin beaches and some excellent diving spots.

The challenging 27 hole golf course has been designed together by world famous designers Dave Thomas and Jorge Soler. The course follows the contours of the natural undulation and offers spectacular scenery and dry river beds, well defined bunkers and water features. Stunning views towards the surrounding mountains can be enjoyed from all fairways. The intention is to attract pro tours and widely known tournaments to this course once completed.

Lorca Resort Golf & Spa extends over 3 million square metres, but out of those one million square metres of the land belongs to the Sierra Almenara nature preserve and cannot be built on. This will enable the resort's residents to enjoy its beautiful flora and fauna, whether by foot, on horse back or with a mountain bike. A welcome addition to the green areas, gardens and of course the golf course.

• Completion golf course and first phase spring 2009
